HOUSE 2067 - CUSTOM CABINETRY - KITCHEN TABLEHouse of Origin are pleased to present our second commissioned custom carpentry item, this time the central table for a home's central room, the Kitchen.
The clients had already specified their intention for a timber bench-top throughout their kitchen, so it was a pleasure to be able to design a multi-purpose table and joinery item with a laminated top. This top uses the same timber as the rest of the kitchen, as well as repurposing timber from the house's original deck, as shown above. The intention was to have a large table that would happily accommodate the close and extended family, whilst also allowing for a more permanent display/storage area, as delineated by the repurposed strip down the table's centre. house 2016 - custom cabinetry - vanity top + sinkHouse of Origin are pleased to present the first commissioned custom carpentry item.
This vanity-top was for a friend's recent residential development and House of Origin were asked to repurpose some of their ceiling rafters into a functional joinery piece. Since we had to cut a hole out for the semi-recessed sink, the clients also got a chunky cutting board out of this piece too! This now lives permanently on their island bench as a resting place for S+P, bread and other cooking essentials. For a look at the construction process, see our blog HERE and to read their testimonial about working with House of Origin, read HERE The Origin of all timbers is House 2016. |

house 2067 - custom branded "abacus" cutting boardHouse of Origin are pleased to present the first commissioned custom cutting board.
This beautiful, thin board was purpose-made for the lovely people at Abacus Business Solutions and uses dowels to highlight their brand name. This board was made almost entirely from boards sourced from House 2067, with the exception of the dowels and uses 100+ year old decking boards and skirting timber. For a look at the construction process, see our blog HERE The Origin of all timbers is House 2067. |

house 2067 - Prototype designsHouse of Origin began our whole-cycle journey by developing our very first range of prototype products as a way of assessing the best designs, materials and fabrication outcomes.
While these are not available for sale, they are still a delight for our House of Origin staff to have around their homes for daily use. The Origin of all timbers is House 2067. |

additional Prototype productsHouse of Origin will shortly announce our newest range of homewares products that will include more items for the kitchen, office and entertaining areas.
Here are some of our earlier designs. These designs will be expanded upon to incorporate more materials salvaged from our projects, suppliers and contractors. These pot-stands are currently not available for sale, but they were made using surplus sample tiles and belong to our director and his father. They live permanently on the kitchen bench. Like all of our products, they will be made locally, sourced from a single house/project and will be available to our clients and the public alike. |
