CREATIVE SIGNAGE CONSIDERATIONS

House of Origin are delighted to be providing concept design advice to the NSW chapter of the NSW Mater Builders Association.

The MBA have a brand spanking new campus at Sydney's Norwest Business Park, ready to accept their hard-working apprentice students and as the finishing touches go on site, they needed some final design advice for a cohesive signage strategy for the exterior and reception area.

The final signage need to tie it with the language of their administrative site in Glebe, their National logo and importantly, it needs be an extension of their overall brand identity.  Since this campus focuses on the construction side of their teaching, the signage will reflect this through a mix of tactile materials and bold compositions.

The Hair Bar - project photography

This hairdressing salon, located in a Mirvac mall in Sydney's western suburbs was completed earlier this year.

We finally managed to co-ordinate a suitable time with the owner to return and take some photos of the finished product.

Our role in this project was to completely rearrange the internal space, add 2 new cutting chairs and rebrand the space with new a coherent language of materials and finishes.

We are very pleased to have wrapped up this exciting project and we look forward to our next interiors projects on the horizon.

we were Style By Asia's weekly "guest blogger"

House of Origin are very passionate about the status of Australian design, architecture, heritage and future.

Our post addressed all of these elements and asks the question "how does a young (modern) country generate a cultural value with so little to build on?"

We believe that House of Origin are in a position to drive the market-driven identification of value for our material past, through our products and that this can only lead to good things!

A few weeks ago, as you'll see from earlier posts or our design blog, we were very pleased to be invited to participate in an Etsy Pop-Up shop at our local West Elm store.

We met so many people who were as enthusiastic as we are about our products and since we just received their official photos and thought we'd post some of them up here.

Our first project in print

This weekend, we were very pleased to be featured in the Sunday Herald's Domain section of the Sydney Morning Herald.  This was a great article about the importance of discovering a good brief for both the clients and the existing property.  Well worth a read of any ageing clients considering their down-sizing opportunities.

House 2062

Below is a selection of alternative recent arrangements we have prepared for our clients for their consideration, with the new walls shown in blue and joinery shown with a timber texture.

House 2067 photographed

Our House of Origin director Zander recently had the pleasure of spending the day capturing the finished product of our House 2067 project; the restoration and splitting of a C1919 family home into a dual occupancy.

Below is a selection of the fantastic photos taken by Sydney architectural photographer Michael Nicholson, which have been recently uploaded to our website.

You can see more of Michael's work here.

interior 2042

Our newest project is for the change of use to a existing heritage site, through a very extensive internal overhaul.

With enormous potential, the project promises to bring a new lease of life to an almost derelict site, restoring beautiful internal plaster work and facade details to former glory for the enjoyment of a new audience.

Located in Sydney's inner south, this new project currently under preliminary investigation.

More information will be added once the project progresses.
